| Nationals Vs. Mets Score: Brad Peacock Strutting… | |
Read More: Jayson Werth (RF – WAS), Mike Pelfrey (P – NYM), Michael Morse (1B – WAS), Chris Marrero (1B – WAS), Brad Peacock (P – WAS), Washington Nationals, New York Mets The Washington Nationals have taken a 2-0 lead into the sixth inning on top of the New York Mets on Wednesday. They are a little over four innings away from sweeping their NL East rivals and moving closer to third place in the NL East which is currently held by the Mets. The team’s success is due in part to rookie pitcher Brad Peacock who has been sensational through five innings only giving up two hits to New York while walking three and striking out two. He had a no-hitter going until the fourth inning when the Mets were able to get a single up the middle. Majority of Peacock’s outs have come in the form of fly outs. He ran into trouble in the fourth when the Mets loaded the bases, but was able to get out of the jam showing impressive coolness and fortitude. The Nationals have rocked six hits off Mets starter Mike Pelfrey. Michael Morse and Jayson Werth lay claim to the Nationals two runs, both hitting RBI singles in the third inning. Rookie first baseman Chris Marrero is hitting the ball well and is 2-for-3. What are your opinions. Posted in nationals-news | Comments Off
